Frame per second FPS in games

Posted by admin under Uncategorized

Frame rates in video games refer to the speed at which the image is refreshed (typically in frames per second, or FPS). Many underlying processes, such as collision detection and network processing, run at different or inconsistent frequencies or in different physical components of a computer. FPS affect the experience in two ways: low FPS does not give the illusion of motion effectively and affects the user’s capacity to interact with the game, while FPS that vary substantially from one second to the next depending on computational load produce uneven, “choppy” animation. Many games lock their frame rate at lower but more sustainable levels to give consistently smooth motion.
The first 3D first-person shooter game for a personal computer, 3D Monster Maze, had a frame rate of approximately 6 FPS, and was still a success. In modern action-oriented games where players must visually track animated objects and react quickly, frame rates of between 30 to 100+ FPS are considered acceptable by most, though this can vary significantly from game to game. Modern action games, including popular console shooters such as Halo 3, are locked at 30 FPS maximum, while others, such as Unreal Tournament 3, can run well in excess of 100 FPS on sufficient hardware. The frame rate within games varies considerably depending upon what is currently happening at a given moment, or with the hardware configuration (especially in PC games.) When the computation of a frame consumes more time than is alloted between frames, the frame rate decreases.
A culture of competition has arisen among game enthusiasts with regard to frame rates, with players striving to obtain the highest FPS possible, due to their utility in demonstrating a system’s power and efficiency. Indeed, many benchmarks (such as 3DMark) released by the marketing departments of hardware manufacturers and published in hardware reviews focus on the FPS measurement. Even though the typical LCD monitors of today are locked at 60 FPS, making extremely high frame rates impossible to see in realtime, playthroughs of game “timedemos” at hundreds or thousands of FPS for benchmarking purposes are still common.
Beyond measurement and bragging rights, such exercises do have practical bearing in some cases. A certain amount of discarded “headroom” frames are beneficial for the elimination of uneven (“choppy” or “jumpy”) output, and to prevent FPS from plummeting during the intense sequences when players need smooth feedback most.
Aside from frame rate, a separate but related factor unique to interactive applications such as gaming is latency. Excessive preprocessing can result in a noticeable delay between player commands and computer feedback, even when a full frame rate is maintained, often referred to as input lag.
Without realistic motion blurring, video games and computer animations do not look as fluid as film, even with the same frame rate. When a fast moving object is present on two consecutive frames, a gap between the images on the two frames contributes to a noticeable separation of the object and its afterimage in the eye. Motion blurring mitigates this effect, since it tends to reduce the image gap when the two frames are strung together The effect of motion blurring is essentially superimposing multiple images of the fast-moving object on a single frame. Motion blurring makes the motion more fluid to the human eye, even as the image of the object becomes blurry on each individual frame.
A high frame rate still doesn’t guarantee fluid movements, especially on hardware with more than one GPU. The Effect is known as micro stuttering.

How many frames per second can the human eye see?

The human visual system does not see in terms of frames; it works with a continuous flow of light information.[citation needed] A related question is, “how many frames per second are needed for an observer to not see artifacts?” However, this question also does not have a single straight-forward answer. If the image switches between black and white each frame, the image appears to flicker at frame rates slower than 30 FPS (interlaced). In other words, the flicker-fusion point, where the eyes see gray instead of flickering tends to be around 60 Hz. However, fast moving objects may require higher frame rates to avoid judder (non-smooth motion) artifacts—and the retinal fusion point can vary in different people, as in different lighting conditions. The flicker-fusion point can only be applied to digital images of absolute values, such as black and white. Where as a more analogous representation can run at lower frame rates, and still be perceived by a viewer. For example, motion blurring in digital games allows the frame rate to be lowered, while the human perception of motion remains unaffected. This would be the equivalent of introducing shades of gray into the black–white flicker.
Although human vision has no “frame rate”, it may be possible to investigate the consequences of changes in frame rate for human observers. The most famous example may be the wagon-wheel effect, a form of aliasing in the time domain; in which a spinning wheel suddenly appears to change direction when its speed approaches the frame rate of the image capture/reproduction system.
Different capture/playback systems may operate at the same frame rate, and still give a different level of “realism” or artifacts attributed to frame rate. One reason for this may be the temporal characteristics of the camera and display device.
Judder is a real problem in this day where 46 and 52 inch television sets have become the norm. The amount an object moves between frames physically on screen is now of such a magnitude that objects and backgrounds can no longer be classed as “clear” . Letters cannot be read and looking at vertical objects like trees and lamp posts while the camera is panning sideways have even been known cause headaches. The actual amount of motion blur needed to make 24 frames per second smooth eliminates every remnant of detail from the frames. Where adding the right amount of motion blur eliminates the uncomfortable side effects , it is more than often simply not done. It requires extra processing to turn the extra frames of a 120 FPS source (which is the current recording “standard”[citation needed]) into adequate motion blur for a 24 FPS target. It would also potentially remove the detail and clarity of background advertising . Today , devices are up to the task of displaying 60 frames per second , using them all on the source media is very much possible. For example , the amount of data that can be stored on blu-ray and the processing power to decode it is more than adequate. Though the extra frames when not filtered correctly , can produce a somewhat video-esque quality to the whole, the improvement to motion heavy sequences is undeniable. Televisions these days often have an option to do some kind of frame interpolation (what would be a frame between 2 real frames gets calculated to some degree) , where for frames that are almost identical this can give some manner of improvement in judder , it comes nowhere close to a source having a higher number of frames, it is merely a trick to compensate for sources not having a high enough FPS rate. This interpolation creates artifacts on screen that are clearly noticeable also.

SO MORE FPS MEANS A FASTER MOVMENT FOR THOUSE WHO WATCH U
FOR CONQUER TRY TO KEEP UP 39 FPS ALL THE TIME
HOW? Just open mozzila or google chrome or Yahoo messenger and alt tab it to your game, work perfect

What ping means for games online

Posted by admin under Uncategorized

” PING ” , simply means ‘ Packet Internet Groper ‘. This is a utility that actually lets you check the speed of Packet data sent and received on a network. When an IP address is pinged, the Network Adapter send out a specific number of packets and receives it back. A calculation of the receive time is made and this is usually in milliseconds. The higher this time is the longer it has taken the packets to be received. This is not good because it means that the Network has excess packet collisions and or noise and that it is quite slow.

You cannot actually lower the ping time rate. This is becasue the Ping time rate actually depends on how many computers are trying to access your network at a given time and also on the total speed of the network. Perhaps your ISP provides only this kind of speed in your area.

The slowness of the computer or the age of the computer does not really have much to do with this ‘ping speed ‘ because the speed of the network is not governed by the computer in any way. Even old 486 computer will have a Ping rate comparable to newer Pentiums.

SO LESS PING = FASTER MOVMENT IN GAME

Trouble with Equip. Quest? FaQ!

Tags (Ignore this): Monolith Monster, Soul of General, Venomous Snakes, Frantic Monkey, Ratling, Azure Pill, Equipment, Trainer, Smells, Stone Column, Trainer Badge, Ginseng, Power Book, (Bound), (Free), Jade, Pendant, Bull, Well, Ghost Mirror, Key, Shark, Portrait, Help, Equipment, Quest, Quests, Bonus, Free

Welcome to the Official Equipment Quest FAQ! Below are some commonly asked questions about these quests! The guide addresses general questions, and ones specific to each quest. The answered are listed in order of quest (From refined to super). If you have a question that hasn’t been answered, please ask it here and I will try to find the answer for you! Good luck with your quests and I hope you all can find the answers you are looking for!

All Quests
Q: (NPC) won’t accept my (item). Is the quest broken?

A: No, you simply lost your Trainer Badge. Speak to your Job Center NPC to reobtain one. You don’t need to restart the quest. This usually happens if you are killed or die with the badge in your inventory.

——————————————————————-

The Helmet
Q: Where are Monolith Monsters?

A: Monolith simply refers to the stone/rocky structure of RockMonsterLv19 in Twin City Mine.

I believe TQ has renamed the Monolith monsters so players are better able to understand the monster in question.

——————————————————————-

The Connector
Q: Where is Thief Chen?

A: Thief Chen hangs out near the Twin City portal in Phoenix Castle. If you can find the Castle Bandits he will be nearby.

——————————————————————-

The Azure Pill
Q: Why can’t I get the Rat pieces for the Azure Pill?

A: Get the two medicine packs in Twin City first, then kill FireRatL38 in Phoenix Castle. Only the purple ones drop the pieces, and it may take awhile to get all the pieces.

It is normal for this quest to require hundreds of kills. Expect around 200-300 Ratlings. Kill the Purple ones for a greater chance at recieving a piece.

——————————————————————-

Mystic Ring
Q: Do I need to get the agrypnotics and stanchers from Twin city?

A: No! Simply bring them along with you or buy them from the Pharmacist in Phoenix Castle!

-

Q: Where is Shen Junior?

A: Shen Junior can be found within the Phoenix Castle mine. Go to the bottom right most part of the Maple Forest map and talk to the Assisstant, answer his riddle to get inside, then go straight down from the entrance. Shen Junior is standing right by the bottom left ladder. A map is included at the bottom of this post for further instruction.
——————————————————————-

Frantic Monkeys
Q: Why can’t I hurt the VenomousApes?

A: This problem most likely relates to the Ninja’s lack of Strength points. If you want, you can try to reattribute. But the best solutions are to try and use Toxic Fog to assist you in killing the monsters, or wait until you get HeavenFan at level 100.

This problem should be fixed! If you are still having trouble, please contact TQ through the HelpDesk.
——————————————————————-

Soul of General
Q: I can’t get the smells for General Amber’s silk pack!

A: The smells from RockMonsters are 100% each kill. Giant Apes and Snakemen do not always drop them. Just keep killling. Make sure you kill the GREEN GiantApeLv53 only.

——————————————————————-

The Mad Man
Q: I can’t return to Puro Puro, and it says I’ve already used the dyes!

A: Kill Snakemen to obtain a new venomous fang and have it extracted for Toxins if you are truly unable to return.

——————————————————————-

The Ghost City
Q: Where are the coordinates?

A: One u find on bridge where u go pk arena, and one on right corner on boxer area

-

Q: I saved the kids but Aunt Zhang won’t give me the reward!

A: For some reason the quest steals your Training Badge after you leave Dark City. Simply ask your Trainer for another and you can talk to her and complete the quest. Do Not Restart
the task!

——————————————————————-

Tomboy’s Marriage
Q: Why can’t I make the Runes? It keeps failing!

A: The runes have about a 25% chance of working. Just keep at it.

——————————————————————-

Desert Blood
Q: Where is Harvey?

A: Harvey is located at the large temple in the back of Desert City.

-

Q: Where is the Stone Column?

A: The Stone Column is north of the Ancient City.

-

Q: Do I actually have to kill 200 Blade Monsters L83?

A: No, normal BladeMonsters count towards your kills.

——————————————————————-

Desert Treasure

Q: I keep losing the key to the secret compartment!

A: If you use the Reveal vial, wait until the yellow light has completely vanished from the spot before standing on it. If there is any light left, the key will be used up and you will not get the item.

Something appers to have recently broken in this phase of the quest. The last time I attempted it I kept failing. I believe you are not allowed to jump onto the spot. Try walking across it, that worked for me. Hopefully nobody even encounters this problem.
-

Q: How much does Shark want for the portrait?

A: The minimum amount appears to be 75,000.

Be very careful, If you offer too low he takes the money and leaves you with absolutely nothing.

——————————————————————-

Desert Expedition

Q: I can’t get the Bull Horns!

A: The Ferverent Pill MUST be activated as you kill the bulls in order for you to recieve a horn.

-

Q: The Ghost Mirror isn’t working on the Mad Bulls.

A: Set the trap on the well, and try to get the bull to stand right on the well. Then attack it from below.

i will update as soon as posible

In reincarnation, the only levels that are significant are the original first two from your First Life and Fire Reborn and whatever level you are in your last life. Attribute points come from your first two lives, and nothing else, nothing change, u dont receive more atributes.

So you can be 130-130-110-110-120-125-130, and this is equivalent to being 130-130-130.
Or you can go 120-130-130-130-130-130-130 and you will still be 120-130-130.

Do I have to level up all the way back to 137? (Or 132 or whatever?)
No, once you hit level 110, you will automatically be jumped back to the level you had at the moment you reincarnated. So if you were level 132, and you reincarnated, when you hit level 110 again, you will jump back to level 132.

Do I keep the % I am on when I jump back?
Yes.
Possibly not for levels before 130, but who cares, they’re way easier. Just don’t do it at 99% to be safe.

Lives
Which life does Reincarnation Change? All, but not how you think.
Can I change all of them at the same time? No.
Can I select which life I want to change? No, only the last life.
Can I reincarnate more than once? Yes, u can reincarnate every day, one gw u go archer one gw u go troj, depends of your pleasure’s, this is fun cuz maybe u made a troj but u never tryed to play a fire, so u can try now all combinations u want.

You can reincarnate as many times as you want.
Reincarnation ‘changes’ all your lives. Technically it’s not changing all of them, but rather adding one life to the end, and then pushing the rest back. With lives, reincarnation takes into account only the last three.

For example, if you didnt know that with warr at middle you have reflect (wich is very important) and made an arch-fire-war and want to make a nin-war-fire, you first need to reincarnate to a ninja.
You will then become:
arch-fire-war-nin,
which is equivalent to being fire-war-nin.

Then you would need to reincarnate again, this time to warrior.
Then you would become:
arch-fire-war-nin-war.
Effectively being a war-nin-war.

Then you would need to reincarnate a final time to fire, becoming:
arch-fire-war-nin-war-fire.
Effectively being a nin-war-fire.

Weapon Skills, Class Skills and Weapon Proficiency
Will my skills and proficiencies jump back to fixed/their previous level when I reach level 110, like how my level jumps back?
No.
Please note that only the classes for the current three lives will be counted. All the skills you learned before these lives will be erased
You will need to level them to the integer part of half their level for them to jump back.

Eg. Level 9 fixed will need to be leveled to 4 in order to refix. Proficiencies are a bit random, and can sometimes fail to jump after going halfway. You just have to keep leveling it, and each time it levels up, it has the chance to jump. (See: Epiphany, point 5 in the reborn section of the site.)
Which skills will I keep?
Any that your reborn path allows. For weapon skills and proficiencies, since you can have them being any class, you will keep them as long as you level them up every time you reincarnate.

For class skills, you need to have the required ‘life path’ ie. effective reborn path (See Lives section above) to have the skill.

For example, you are a nin-war-wat and you reincarnate to archer.
You will now be nin-war-wat-arch, effectively being a war-wat-arch.
You will lose reflect since you are no longer XXX-war-XXX.
You will lose fog since you are no longer a ninja in any life.
However, you will gain any skills that a war-wat-arch can have, according to the second rebirth guide.
I’m a pure fire and want to reincarnate to nin-war-fire. Will I have an epiphany for my fixed fire met and tornado?
No. The moment you reincarnate to ninja, you are no longer a fire and cannot fix tornado and fire met. You will not have an epiphany for that skill, since you cannot learn it.

When you reincarnate to a warrior, you cannot learn them, so you will not have an epiphany.

When you reincarnate back to fire again, becoming nin-war-fire, since you did not know the skill as a warrior, then you cannot have an epiphany. You will need to level it again from scratch. It sucks, but TQ didn’t bother programming an easier way.
